How you keep the engine running with us

Are you ready to help build a brand-new analytical capability from the ground up? At Fokker Services Group, we are looking for a skilled and driven Galvanizing Engineer & Analyst to join our Surface Treatment, Painting & NDT team. You will report to the Team Leader Surface Treatment, Painting & NDT, and work closely with 2 galvanizing colleagues, as well as 10–15 painters and NDT specialists.

This role offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on galvanizing expertise with analytical skills. You will be responsible for optimizing our galvanizing processes, performing chemical analyses, and advising on new technologies and regulations (such as REACH) to ensure our operations remain ahead of the curve.

As Galvanizing Engineer & Analyst, you will focus on the process of applying protective coatings to metal surfaces to prevent corrosion. You will not only ensure the process runs at peak quality but also develop and maintain the analytical capability that monitors our solutions and bath chemistry. This means you will have a direct impact on both day-to-day production quality and the long-term innovation of our processes.

  • Process Optimization: Analyze and improve the galvanizing process, from surface preparation and bath management to coating application
  • Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve coating quality issues, equipment malfunctions, and production inefficiencies
  • Technical Support: Provide expert advice to production teams and other stakeholders on galvanizing processes
  • Research & Development: Stay updated on industry developments and contribute to implementing new processes or technologies
  • Quality Control: Monitor and ensure processes meet required quality standards and specifications
  • Cost Analysis: Evaluate and propose cost-effective galvanizing methods and materials

How you are valuable to us

  • MBO level 3 or 4 in a relevant technical or laboratory discipline (e.g. Chemical-Physical Analyst)
  • Experience in galvanizing, surface treatment, or a similar technical process
  • Strong analytical skills to assess bath chemistry, interpret data, and identify trends
  • Good communication skills to share technical insights with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Hands-on mentality with problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. REACH) is a plus
  • Experience as an all-round laboratory technician is highly valued
