Operational Buyer

As an Operational Buyer at Fokker Techniek in Woensdrecht, you will play a crucial role in managing the order flow and ensuring timely delivery of materials, while fostering strong relationships with suppliers to maintain high service levels and continuous process improvement.

How you keep the engine running with us

The Operational Buyer provides regular updates to the stakeholders about the order status. When deliveries cannot be made on time, you will propose alternative solutions in order to still meet the requested service levels.

The department:

Within Supply Chain there are multiple teams of Operational Buyers supporting the different departments. The Operational Buyer is the link between several department and responsible for the order flow for all products and services of Fokker Techniek. Through continuous improvement on processes and services,  all departments work together and strive to guarantee the ultimate customer experience.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Acquiring/purchasing material under the most favorable terms, conditions;
  • Planning and outsourcing components for the purpose of undergoing testing, repair and/or overhaul;
  • Administrative management of the stock levels to meet the requirements (Inventory Management);
  • Select (sub)contractors to submit bids (RFQ Management);
  • Develop and manage effective relationships with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, quality issues, and cost concerns (Supplier Relationship Management);
  • Ensure the correct quality controls at suppliers and internally;
  • Managing RMA’s and restocking fees;
  • Timely resolution of non-conformities;
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams.

How you are valuable to us

  • MBO+/HBO professional- and intellectual thinking;
  • Knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes ( NEVI Mil basis is an advantage);
  • Accurate, collaboration, creativity, flexibility, accountability, entrepreneurship, customer service, negotiation skills with commercial insights and problem solving;
  • Experienced with MS Office;
  • Fluently in English, both spoken and written;
  • Knowledge of quality systems is an advantage;
  • Interest of drawing systems, technical manuals, etc. is an advantage;
  • Knowledge or familiar with Lean and Six Sigma is an advantage.
