The Role:

The role of Process Engineer – Avionics & Instruments is pivotal for the Component Maintenance activities within Fokker Services. As such, you will be the first point of contact for Technician of the Avionics & Instruments shop in order to assist with technical enquiries. In addition to that, your primary role will be to monitor and control shop processes, update and maintain capabilities and ensure calibration and/or availability of tools, consumables and equipment.

You will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team of fellow process engineers, direct shop support, product owner and product engineer within the Avionics & Instruments shop. The Process Engineer – will report to the Team lead process engineers and will liaise with the respective Component Product leads and Technical buyer in order to achieve goals and objectives. In addition to this, the Process Engineer will provide support and serves as a stand-in, in case of absence of one of the Product leads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for controlling, updating and execution of shop processes;
  • Responsible for maintenance, availability and calibration of shop tooling and equipment;
  • Responsible for maintaining capability status and updating capabilities as required;
  • Support respective Component Repair Shop in case of technical enquiries and provides assistance in case of any customer enquiries;
  • Support the respective Component Repair Shop Team Lead in case of absence and ensuring shop continuity;
  • Support in case of potential new business or engineering assistance requests from the Product leads and Product Owner in order to optimize or expand the scope of the shop.

How you are valuable to us

  • HBO/BSc degree, or equivalent, in an (Electrical or Mechanical, Aviation-related) Engineering discipline;
  • Work experience: 1-3 years;
  • A demonstrated understanding of Avionics & Instruments components;
  • A demonstrated ability to identify improvements, applying lean principles and driving continuous improvement;
  • Demonstrated understanding of operational excellence and understanding of primary shop processes;
  • Demonstrated ability in assisting with complex problems and showing a can-do attitude;
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical and data analysis skills;
  • A demonstrated proficiency in relevant software skills: MS Excel and Access.
