How you keep the engine running with us

As Project Leader Production CES, you are responsible for the execution perspective of complex aircraft projects during the Installation and Commissioning (I&C) phases. You operate within the CES – Completion and Engineering Services department and support large-scale projects in the VVIP and Special Mission Aircraft markets, typically ranging from €10 to €50 million in value.

Working within the EPIC lifecycle, Engineering, Procurement, Installation, Commissioning and Certification, you act as the technical right hand of the Overall Project Manager and represent the Project Manager where required. You ensure that technical scope, planning, cost and quality targets are achieved during execution, while safeguarding compliance with aviation regulations and contractual requirements.

Position in the Organisation

You report hierarchically to the Head of Large Projects and work functionally in close alignment with the Overall Project Manager. Within the matrix organization, you act as the linking pin between CES and the AMRO organization, while maintaining close cooperation with Engineering, Procurement and CMRO.

Your Responsibilities

You support Proposal and Sales Managers during the early project phases, contributing technical expertise to feasibility assessments and contract preparation. After contract award, you take ownership of the technical Scope of Work (SoW) during the Installation and Commissioning phases.

You are responsible for developing and maintaining the Installation & Commissioning Plan, including relevant Project-Specific Procedures (PSP), in close collaboration with the Project Management Team. You ensure that the I&C phases are executed within agreed cost, schedule and quality parameters.

Together with the Planner, Project Engineer, Process Engineer and Procurement, you contribute to the detailed closed-network planning and ensure alignment between technical execution and resource availability. You proactively manage technical risks during I&C and support risk management activities in earlier Engineering & Procurement phases.

You are responsible for short- and long-term resource forecasting and maintain clear communication with AMRO and CMRO regarding forward load and capacity planning. Upon project completion, you contribute to structured close-out activities and drive continuous improvement through a lessons-learned approach.

Communication, Collaboration & Working Environment

As Project Leader Production, you are accountable for guiding the execution of EPIC projects within CES in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment. You typically operate within a portfolio of approximately three projects in different phases of the EPIC lifecycle, balancing technical oversight, stakeholder alignment and operational execution.

Your role requires intensive collaboration with AMRO, Procurement, Operations, Engineering and CMRO, while working closely with a core team of around 10 professionals, including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Proposal Managers, Planners and Sales Managers. In addition, you interact with customers, pilots and authorities when required, ensuring alignment on technical matters and project progress. Strong communication skills and effective stakeholder management are therefore essential to successfully deliver complex projects within scope, schedule and quality standards.

How you are valuable to us

  • Act as the technical right hand of the Project Manager during Installation & Commissioning
  • Provide technical consultation to Engineering and Procurement during earlier EPIC phases
  • Support the Project Controller in monitoring calculated, spent and forecasted hours and costs, particularly for AMRO and CMRO disciplines
  • Represent the Project Team in technical meetings where required
  • Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders and, where necessary, customers and authorities
  • Ensure alignment between CES execution and AMRO operations within the matrix organization

Reporting & Governance

You report to the Project Manager on:

  • Progress and earned value during Installation & Commissioning
  • Technical issues and risk mitigation across all phases
  • Open action items and corrective measures
  • Input for weekly and monthly project reporting

Your Profile

  • MBO+ or Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Proven experience in aircraft maintenance and/or modification environments
  • Experience in managing or supporting EPIC projects
  • Project management capability at IPMA Level C
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and empower teams
  • Solid understanding of FAA/EASA Part 21 and Part 145 regulations
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental standards
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English
