How you keep the engine running with us

As Senior Project Manager, you are responsible for the end-to-end management of large, complex aircraft projects within the CES – Completion and Engineering Services department. You lead projects in the VVIP and Special Mission Aircraft markets with a typical project value ranging from €10 to €50 million.

You manage projects throughout all phases of the EPIC lifecycle Engineering, Procurement, Installation, Commissioning and Certification ensuring delivery in line with contractual scope, budget, schedule and quality requirements. Acting as the primary representative of the contract owners, the Customer and the BU Director CES, you lead a multidisciplinary Project Management Team and align technical, commercial and operational interests to successfully deliver high-value, high-complexity programs.

You report hierarchically to the BU Director CES and Head of Large Projects and lead the Project Management Team assigned to your projects.

Your Responsibilities

As Senior Project Manager, you are accountable for the full project lifecycle, from proposal support through project close-out. You support Proposal and Sales Managers during the proposal and sales phases of large projects, contributing to project definition, planning and risk assessment in the process toward contract award.

Following contract award, you take ownership of the contract and manage the Scope of Work (SoW) against agreed cost, quality and timeline objectives. You establish, maintain and execute the Project Management Plan (PMP) and related Project-Specific Procedures (PSP), ensuring clarity, control and alignment throughout project execution.

You are responsible for detailed project planning and coordination, developing closed-network schedules in close collaboration with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders. Risk management is a core part of the role, requiring you to identify, monitor and mitigate risks from proposal phase through final delivery, supported by clear reporting.

You manage all out-of-scope activities through formal change management procedures, ensuring contractual, financial and operational integrity. Upon project completion, you lead structured project close-out activities and drive continuous improvement through a lessons-learned approach.

  • Lead a multidisciplinary Project Management Team to deliver projects on time, within budget and at the required quality level
  • Represent the project and Project Team in management, steering and review meetings
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders through structured communication and expectation management
  • Secure robust financial control, monitoring and reporting in close cooperation with the Project Controller
  • Coordinate internal departments and external partners in accordance with the PMP, ensuring EPIC deliverables meet planning, budget and quality requirements

Reporting & Governance

You provide structured reporting in line with the PMP, including:

  • KPI reporting to CES Business Unit Management
  • Progress and deliverable reporting to the Customer
  • Planning and progress updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • KPI and sponsor-level reporting to the Steering Group
  • Monthly Project Review Management reports with qualitative and quantitative insights

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Proven experience managing large EPIC projects in a technical or aerospace environment
  • Strong background in contract and change management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, combining strategic oversight with hands-on execution
  • Project management capability or certification at IPMA Level B
  • Proven ability to motivate, empower and lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental principles
  • Proficiency in English and Dutch (minimum B2 level)

The Team

Successful execution requires close collaboration with Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Production, Component Maintenance and Commercial teams, as well as frequent interaction with customers and project sponsors.
