How you keep the engine running with us

The Team Lead Engineering Structure & Interior is responsible for overseeing and managing the team’s workflow, ensuring smooth operations and supporting employees with challenges and inquiries. They ensure that departmental guidelines, as defined by the Head of Engineering, are properly implemented and followed. In this role, the Team Lead Engineering Structure & Interior also coaches and mentors team members, conducting Performance Development meetings after approval from the Head of Engineering. Additionally, they advise the Head of Engineering on employment conditions and personnel matters while managing absenteeism within the team. Accurate time registration in our Time Registration System for all team members also falls under their scope. The Team Lead Engineering Structure & Interior supervises the quality and scope of results within the engineering disciplines and ensures optimal execution processes by guiding and coordinating team members effectively. They work closely with Lead Engineers, Project Managers, and Program Managers to distribute workloads and maintain oversight of capacity planning and resource allocation. Any critical issues are escalated to the Head of Engineering with proposed solutions in a timely manner.

Communication & Collaboration

Collaboration is essential in this role, as the Team Lead Engineering Structure & Interior works closely with colleagues across the organization to discuss engineering processes and best practices. They provide advice to the Head of Engineering regarding engineering activities and project progress while offering clear instructions and guidance to their team members. Additionally, they actively engage in discussions with management to propose and implement process improvements.

Authorities & Responsibilities

The Team Lead Engineering Structure & Interior advises the Head of Engineering on resource planning for their team, both in terms of quantity and quality. They provide input on workforce planning, employment conditions, and personnel-related matters. People management is a key responsibility, which includes conducting one-on-one meetings, fostering professional growth, and ensuring effective workforce allocation to meet project demands. The Team Lead manages one of the teams within the Completion & Engineering Services department, with a strong focus on people management. In addition to the leadership role, the Team Lead Engineering Structure & Interior spends approximately 60-70% of their time in an operational role as a Design, Service, or Systems Engineer. The team consists of 15-20 members.

How you are valuable to us

  • HBO work and thinking level, in the direction of aerospace engineering and/or mechanical engineering or a comparable field.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations and certification processes.
  • Experience with engineering workflows and processes.
  • Strong affinity for people management.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
