How you keep the engine running with us

In this position, you are responsible for all operational aspects of the Sheetmetal & Composites Shop. You focus on the efficient execution of the production planning, the optimal deployment of resources and the achievement of both operational and financial targets.

You report to the Head of Production and work closely with Customer Support, PPC, Supply Chain and Engineering. The department is characterised by a high work intensity, giving you a real opportunity to make an impact on your team. You are closely involved on the shop floor while also working with fellow team leads and your manager on the strategic direction and continuous improvement of the department.

You will be joining a loyal environment where colleagues have been through a lot together. To prepare for the future, this role requires flexibility, availability and courage.

Your main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Leadership: Motivate and lead a team of around 14 technicians and support staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality and collaboration.

  • Structural repairs: Ensure timely and high-quality repairs of sheetmetal and composite structures in line with OEM and regulatory standards.

  • Production planning: Work together with planning and control to meet customer deadlines and optimise workflow.

  • Quality assurance: Safeguard compliance with airworthiness requirements and implement robust quality controls.

  • Process optimisation: Identify improvement opportunities and apply Lean principles to reduce waste and increase productivity.

  • Safety: Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

  • Training & development: Encourage skills development and continuous learning within the team.

How you are valuable to us

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in an MRO or production environment.

  • Solid knowledge of structural repair techniques for aircraft structures (sheetmetal and composites).

  • Familiarity with EASA Part-145 regulations and airworthiness requirements.

  • Ability to interpret Aircraft Structural Repair Manuals and technical drawings.

  • Proven experience in managing operations, quality and safety.

  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.

  • Strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint;

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) is an advantage.

  • IPMA-D certification is considered a plus.

You can be pragmatic when needed, keep a helicopter view when things get busy and use your interpersonal skills and positive energy to guide the team towards the future.
