How you keep the engine running with us

As an Intern – Research & Process Improvement Shared Mailbox CSD and RFQ Follow‑Up, you will investigate how we can organize our shared mailbox in a smarter, more efficient and future‑proof way. In addition, you will design a clear process for the registration and follow‑up of incoming price and quotation requests.

You will work closely with the CSD team, Product and Program Managers, Woensdrecht IT and our Advanced Analytics department in Hoofddorp.

You will investigate:

  • How the current mailbox is used by CSD employees and Program Managers
  • What types of questions are received from customers and marketplaces (ILS, 145.com)
  • Which roles are responsible for the follow‑up of different types of inquiries
  • What opportunities AI, automation and IT tools can offer
  • How other business units and locations (Singapore, Hoofddorp and La Grange) have set up similar processes
  • Which process improvements and tools can be implemented, and how

The objective:
To design and substantiate a workable, efficient and future‑proof process and procedure that can be implemented directly within our daily operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Mapping current mailbox processes (types of emails, volumes, roles, lead times)
  • Analyzing improvement opportunities related to AI support, categorization, workflow automation and reporting
  • Collaborating with IT and Advanced Analytics to explore technical options and proof‑of‑concepts
  • Interviewing and observing CSD colleagues to identify needs and pain points
  • Defining a registration process for incoming price requests
  • Mapping the follow‑up process for various types of requests and clarifying responsibilities
  • Benchmarking other business units to gather best practices
  • Developing advice for the future process, including clear steps, roles and technical support
  • Delivering a practical, implementation‑ready workflow, including guidelines, descriptions and recommendations at the end of your internship
  • Engaging colleagues in the change process, with attention to usability and adoption

How you are valuable to us

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level education (e.g., Business Administration, Logistics Management, Aviation, ICT, Data Science, AI/Digital Business)
  • Interest in process improvement, data, AI applications and practical solutions
  • Curiosity, analytical thinking and a structured way of working
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills — you enjoy interviewing colleagues, involving stakeholders and presenting ideas
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, with the confidence to ask critical questions
  • Comfort working in a dynamic aviation environment with a strong customer focus
  • Good command of the English language is an advantage, due to English‑language instructions and international collaboration
  • Currently living in the Netherlands
